I Need Your Help

As you can see, I haven't posted in here for over a week. I don't like that. I believe that if you have a blog, it should be updated at least once a week if you want to keep regular readers. Unfortunately, I've been so busy at the Screaming Sardine that I haven't had the time to do so. Plus, as I've alluded to before, I want to do more than just feature the core group here. You want to read a blog to find out new things, and once you see your favorite artisans here, I'm sure you regularly check their blogs and Etsy shops to see all their latest offerings.

So what I was wondering is if any of you would like to lend a helping hand? I'd love to have regular guest bloggers - perhaps you? - on here writing about your handmade items you offer in your shops. It's a way for you to get exposure - whether you're a new shop or a shop that has been around for awhile.

So please contact me at iluvffmn at yahoo dot com if you'd like to write for this blog. You can also write about your favorite artisans, too. Whatever you can think of that will fit in with the "buy handmade" theme here, I'm all ears!

I really would like to see this blog continue, and I know many of you do as well. :)

Changes Around Here

There will be changes around here soon. I'm not sure if this blog will stay up much longer. I may export all the posts over to Screaming Sardine. The link party will then be over there as well.

I will be turning the Sunburnt Cow into an ezine, along with Gen of Olde Pear Primitives. This is how we have things shaping up thus far:

Articles:
- history lessons of the various items/implements and the decor

- spotlight on various bloggers/shops

- We need contributors in prim/country/Americana/folk art; shabby chic; cottage style; Victorian; eclectic; mixed media/altered art; vintage; diy; thrifting/junking; French

- tutorials; free epatterns

- Q & A

- classifieds - sale, swap, etc.

If any of you would like to contribute, please email me at iluvffmn - at - yahoo - dot com. You would get a link back to your site(s) whenever you contribute an article, which would mean more exposure for you. This could be a monthly writing gig or a one-off.

Sunburnt Cow Link Party #14

Wow, we had an awesome turnout last week! So glad to see so many people here. Yay! Thank you all so much!! I'm starting to feature all of you over at the Screaming Sardine.

This week's spotlight is Niki from So Free Me Crafts. She lives on the coast of Maine and has an incredibly gorgeous view of the ocean from her window.

She's also quite creative, as you can surmise from linking up at our parties. :) Here are some of her great projects:

If you have time, please stop in and say hi to Niki. Her beloved grandpa recently passed and she wrote a very moving tribute to him.

Now on to this week's party. Here's the usual wording. If you've been here before, just get right to the linking up and showing off your amazing creativity!

The links will be in reverse order. That means everyone has a chance to be at the number 1 spot since the first entry shown will actually be the latest link up.

You will only be able to link up if you have the text or button banner link back to the Sunburnt Cow on the post you're linking up or on your sidebar. If you don't, you won't be able to link up because of the software of the linking program. If you're having trouble linking up, and you have this blog's link or button in your post or on your sidebar, please leave a comment here.

Here's a list of what you can link up:

1. Blog posts revolving around items you have for sale.
2. Blog posts on items you've made and don't have for sale. They can be in any niche; they don't have to be in the prim or vintage category. The more diverse the party, the better.
3. Blog posts on prim, antique, vintage, old fashioned items that you have that were not handmade by you.
4. And hey, why not link up some recipes of yummies you've made. They're handmade, after all!
5. Additionally, you can link up any giveaways or swaps you might be having.

If you haven't participated in link parties before, they're a great way for you to get some traffic to your blog. They're also very easy to participate in. Plus, now that I'm on Twitter, I'll be all a'twittering about the link parties, which will give you more exposure. I will post the features over at my Screaming Sardine blog that gets more traffic, thus getting you exposure to a wider audience range.

To participate, link up ONLY the blog post(s) you want to include on this link party. (You may link up to four posts). Do NOT link up to your actual blog, but to the post itself. If you don't know how to do this, simply click on the title of your blog posts, and that will give you the url address to that particular post up in the website address bar. Copy that, and then click on the "Add your link" button on this link party.

Up will pop three boxes, one for adding your url to that particular blog post, (which I just explained how to find it and copy it), what you want the title of the entry to be, and your email address. Click on "next step," which will bring you to another page that pulls up all the photos associated with that blog post. Select the one you want to represent the thumbnail in this link party, and there you have it! Easy peasy!

Remember also to put this button in your sidebar or post that you're linking up. A text link is fine as well.

Does Anybody Really Want to Come Here Anymore?

Does anybody really want to come here anymore? Sure, there are the link parties, but I can just as easily have them over at Screaming Sardine.

There are plenty of blogs like this where a group of artisans are showcased. When I first started this blog, I rounded up several artisans I had run across and admired and wanted to showcase them. I never asked for anything in return, and I actually had no idea how draining that could be. This isn't a pity party, but just a legitimate question as to if this blog has any value anymore. The other blogs like this where there are a group of artisans have plenty of support from those artisans who are featured, but save for one or two, I never had much continued support. It's hard to do it alone or without much in the way of encouragement. So should this blog stay or go? I can just as easily spotlight artisans on my Screaming Sardine blog, which I do.

Maybe I'm just getting burned out from doing this alone. I don't know.

New Discovery of Handmade Items: Crafty Cupcake Girl's Baby Shower Creations

Remember to link up to the link party!

I recently discovered a shop on Etsy called Crafty Cupcake Girl's Baby Shower Creations when she commented over at Screaming Sardine. She's got the cutest baby shower gifts for both boys and girls. Where the "cupcake" comes in is that she often incorporates a cupcake design into her gifts. Not actual cupcakes, but little towels and other baby needfuls arranged into the shape of cupcakes. Cool, huh?

She's also having a 25% off sale going on from now until June 18th!

Sunburnt Cow Link Party #13

Sorry I'm late in getting the link party up! I was going to post it before I went to bed, but it was getting late, and I since I'm spotlighting each of you in order of how many weeks you link up, I had to do some research. :)

I will still feature all of you who link up at my new and improved blog Screaming Sardine. I figured out how to work the photos, so the features will be over there. I'm pleased to say the new blog is under two weeks old and is getting between 300 to 400 page views a day. :) That will give you more exposure!!

So, on to this week's party!

This week's spotlight is Made by Suzana, who has linked up a wide variety of creative projects. Here are some additional beauties that she hasn't linked up to the parties.

Here's the usual wording for the link party. If you've been here before, just get right to the linking up and showing off your amazing creativity!

Sunburnt Cow Link Party Features #11

I was going to post this at my new Screaming Sardine blog, but ee gads, I gotta figure out how to do photos over there. I know how to upload them, but they do funky things with wording and the placement of the photos. So, in order to not have to wait on me to research and figure it out, I'll put the features here for now. Sorry about that!

At any rate, we had another wide variety of link ups at the Sunburnt Cow link party last week. I like to feature everyone over here since this blog gets more exposure. I'm all about giving back to others by showing my appreciation as best I can.

And who came to the party last week?

Counting on Me showed up with a stylish handbag she made. The inside looks as beautiful as the outside!

Pat from All is Bright Crafts usually shows up to these parties with her beautiful rag dolls, but this time she showed us that she has some great stitching talent.

Diane from Lavendar Dreams Too shared some lovely thoughts about summer and some beautiful items she has in and around her home.

Kim from Tiaras and Bowties shared a really cute and inexpensive gift. It's super easy to do, too!

Vicki from Custom Teddys brought more dates with her to our party. She always has the cutest dates, don't you think?

Michelle of Michelle's Bears brought her own party! If you want to see what hilarity teddy bears can get into, check out her post!

Niki from So Free Me Crafts shared a very easy and summery wall art that would perk up any home for the warmer weather.

Blooms n Bugs showed off another of her pretty little girls' dresses. I wish my mother sewed this good when I was little. I'd be the stylish girl in the class, instead of hearing "Your mother made that, didn't she?" LOL!

Cindy of Cindy Adkins Whimsical Musings shared some beautiful shabby white treasures. I'm quite smitten by the baby shoe and bird house.

PC from MeiJosJoy brought a very creative, simple, and frugal faux mirror mosaic vase to the party.

Suzanna linked up a beautiful chair renovation that's a true work of art.

Allie from Allie Makes brought a beautiful dress to the party. It even has a matching sakura fascinator! You'll probably be surprised how she made those flowers!

Thanks again for partying with the Sunburnt Cow last week. The party is still going on for all of you interested in joining the fun!

New Discovery of Handmade Items: Rhodes Creations

Remember to join the Sunburnt Cow link party!

Just found Rhodes Creations shop on Etsy. It's full of all kinds of handmade goodies, such as aprons, bath salts, lye soap, aromatherapy, ball ornaments, linens, and much more.

I found her shop through her generous giveaway going on right now.

Additionally, she has lots of prim and country handmade items for sale at Laura's Little House.

Sunburnt Cow Link Party #12

I can't believe how quickly this week has gone! And now it's June!?! How did that happen? And now we're at our 12th week of the Sunburnt Cow Link Party. :)

Last week we had another nice variety of link ups. I usually feature all of you at my All Thumbs Crafts blog, but I got so disgusted over Blogger and its continual issues that All Thumbs Crafts is no more. I spent the weekend combining four of my blogs to Screaming Sardine. I love WordPress and the hosting company I have! It was such a wonderful and easy experience. I even imported all the posts and comments from those four blogs onto Screaming Sardine. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to import all my followers, so if you want to sign up to follow my new blog, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I will still feature you at Screaming Sardine, since I'm able to participate in link parties there, so it gets me 150 to 200 page views, and it's just a couple days old! So I promise to build it back up to what it was before in the amount of followers and increase the page views. I have a lot of things in the works, so I want to give back to you who link up with the party here.

Now...on to the party!

This week's sponsor is Pat from All is Bright Crafts. She's been a regular feature over at Handmade Teddy Bears and Raggedies. She makes amazing handmade rag dolls, and she's also venturing out into offering stitchery epatterns.

Here are some of her great creations:
