Does anybody really want to come here anymore? Sure, there are the link parties, but I can just as easily have them over at Screaming Sardine.
There are plenty of blogs like this where a group of artisans are showcased. When I first started this blog, I rounded up several artisans I had run across and admired and wanted to showcase them. I never asked for anything in return, and I actually had no idea how draining that could be. This isn't a pity party, but just a legitimate question as to if this blog has any value anymore. The other blogs like this where there are a group of artisans have plenty of support from those artisans who are featured, but save for one or two, I never had much continued support. It's hard to do it alone or without much in the way of encouragement. So should this blog stay or go? I can just as easily spotlight artisans on my Screaming Sardine blog, which I do.
Maybe I'm just getting burned out from doing this alone. I don't know.

I got your email about a link party, but I
ReplyDeletehave been gone and have taken a break
from posting. I need to get with it and get
some things done that I have wanted to do...
Also, I need to get back to creating...Hang
in there and thanks so much for your efforts.
Bear Hugs & Blessings~Karen
It's a shame that you aren't getting enough support. I haven't finished setting up my blog so I haven't participated in any link swaps or
ReplyDeleteparties yet. I was planning on starting here but if you decide to just keep up your other blog I can help you over there if you need it. I'm going over now to check out the Screaming Sardine blog.
Good Luck.
Warmest Regards,
Susan B., Western MA
Thanks, Karen and Susan.
ReplyDeleteGot a great idea in an email from a friend, and I think I'll keep the blog up, but take it in another direction. I think a lot of it is what I wrote about above - the cliquishness and the double standards of some in the prim community. But also that I'm interested in so much more than prim, so I need to be blogging and enjoying it. I'm not anymore. So I'll take this blog in the direction I want to go. I'll still do prim, but I'll definitely do a heck of a lot more different genres. It is unfortunate that this blog has a reputation as being prim cuz it most certainly is not.
I'm also tired of trying to post in here every day. I'll dial it back and maybe do a mini-magazine once a week or something like that.
I made a commitment to the winners of the one and only Udderly Amazing New Shop Contest, and I will keep them in it, but I also need to spread out to my other interests as well.
Thanks again!
Cheers,
Tracy
I always enjoy all your posts and appreciate how you feature my items.. I hope I have been supportive and will continue to do so in the future no matter what you decide.. Can't wait to see what you are going to do with the blog and the new direction you are going.. Thanks again Tracy for everything!! Hugs, Tina
ReplyDeleteHi there, Tracy. My thoughts are that you can't go wrong following your own direction, no matter what that may be. You can't please all the people all the time... so write what you want and the people who want to read it will be there... and maybe some new ones to boot. Vicki
ReplyDeleteYes, I'll second the comments..Laura
ReplyDeleteYou can't do it all. And it is good to do things in moderation. Afterall, when it starts to stress you out, it's definitely time to scale back and regroup. Blessings, Laura R.
ReplyDeleteIt must be hard trying to run 2 blogs. I can hardly keep up with one!!!
ReplyDeleteI would think, that if you are going to do you features and linky parties on Screaming Sardine anyway, why not save your sanity and just keep one blog going!!!
I promise to follow what ever you choose!!
You are so awesome!!! I am so happy to have met you!!
